This journey started
out of necessity.
I didn't set out to live a natural lifestyle — I stumbled into it at 32, searching for answers to health challenges I'd been carrying most of my life. I'd always been skeptical of the pharmaceutical industry and instinctively tried to avoid any medication I didn't absolutely need — especially anything I'd have to take indefinitely. So I kept searching: through diet, exercise, and anything else I could find. What I eventually found changed everything.
Go Naturally is the resource I wish I had from the beginning: honest, practical, and grounded in real experience — not hype.
Rooted in real experience — everything shared here I've personally tried and researched.
Always a natural alternative first — diet, movement, and lifestyle before any prescription.
Community-first — connecting people with the right practitioners and resources.
Over a decade of real change.
My First Visit to a Naturopath
For most of my life I'd been dealing with sensitive skin and psoriasis, chronic gut issues, teeth grinding, and a whole range of health challenges that conventional medicine had either medicated or brushed aside. I've always had a deep skepticism of the pharmaceutical industry — I never wanted to take anything I didn't absolutely need, and especially nothing I'd have to take for the rest of my life. So I kept looking for another way: through diet, exercise, research, anything I could find.
The person who first opened my eyes to what naturopathic medicine could actually do was my friend Dr. Joe — who was going through naturopathic college at the time. Long before he founded Greystones Health, he was already talking to me about root-cause thinking, food sensitivities, and the kind of questions conventional doctors simply weren't asking. One of the first concrete things he introduced me to was an IgG food sensitivity test — and it changed the way I understood my own body.
The results were eye-opening: I had sensitivities to cow's milk, egg whites, egg yolks, cranberries, and gluten — things I'd been putting in my body every single day without a second thought. An IgG test looks for delayed food sensitivities, not the immediate allergic reactions a standard doctor's allergy test checks for. The difference matters more than most people realize. Elimination, Reintroduction & Real Results
We started with a thirty-day elimination protocol — removing all the identified foods and then slowly reintroducing them one at a time to see exactly how each one affected my body. The results came fast and they were undeniable.
Dairy was the biggest culprit for my gut. But what surprised me most was what happened beyond digestion: my teeth grinding stopped. And my skin — the psoriasis and sensitivity I'd been managing for years — started clearing up.
It wasn't a miracle. It was information. My body had been telling me something was wrong for years. I just hadn't known how to listen.
Three Surgeries. One Natural Path Forward.
While I was building a foundation of natural health, my body had another challenge running alongside it. Over a ten-year period in my thirties, I dealt with serious ankle problems that led to three surgeries. It came to light that I had a condition called osteochondritis — essentially, the cartilage in my ankles never formed properly during puberty. It's actually a condition common in male ballet dancers, which was my background.
Rather than defaulting to the pharmaceutical pain management being prescribed post-surgery, I worked closely with my naturopath to develop a fully natural approach: pain management, inflammation reduction, and recovery support — all without drugs. The improvements in inflammation were significant and real.
Managing ADHD — Without Medication
ADHD has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. And like so much else, the default answer was medication. But that was never a road I wanted to go down — not for something I'd have to manage every day, potentially for life. So from an early age I started figuring out other ways.
Over the years I built up a toolkit of strategies: structuring my environment, leaning into routines, understanding what kinds of movement and diet actually affected my focus and energy levels, and finding the natural approaches that helped my brain work with me instead of against me. It took real work and a lot of trial and error — but it's possible.
Managing ADHD naturally is something I want to talk more about on this platform, because I know how many people are handed a prescription and told that's the only option. It isn't. There are real tools and real strategies that make a difference.
Bioenergetic Medicine & the Work I Didn't Know Was Possible
A few years ago I found a new naturopath who works in bioenergetic medicine. Honestly? It's not something I would have taken seriously before I saw it for myself. I would have been skeptical. But I've witnessed firsthand the changes my body has gone through since we started working together.
A big focus has been the accumulated trauma from years of ankle surgeries and injuries. After my three surgeries, I had only ever recovered to about 75% of my pre-injury function. We worked to identify and reduce the remaining inflammation that had been quietly building in my ankle for years. The results have been remarkable — I'm now at 90–95% of what I used to be. I can walk, dance, and do the things I love that were always a struggle before.
Blood Analysis & Building the Full Picture
More recently, I began working with a naturopath and nutritionist who specializes in live blood analysis. Seeing my own blood under a microscope — and having someone walk me through exactly what they were observing in real time — was unlike any health experience I'd had before. What we saw was my cells sticking together, which suggests the liver and/or kidneys weren't functioning properly. I saw for my own eyes things like parasites, and the COVID vaccine in my blood. From those findings and analysis, Jen was able to build a targeted supplement protocol specifically for what my body needed.
Combined with the ongoing bioenergetic work, I now have a team of practitioners who understand my whole picture — not just individual symptoms. That's the kind of care I want to help other people find.
